If you are a fan of this drink, then you probably want to find out some facts about it, so here are some interesting, historical facts about this drink.
As most of us know, Coca-Cola was invented by John Pemberton. He served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War where he was really wounded. Since he had survived it, he had become addicted to morphine, so that’s why he decided to create a drink that will help him to combat that addiction.
When he decided to make that drink, he first wanted to combine coke with alcohol, so that’s why in the beginning Coca-Cola was coked-up and at the same time alcoholic.
The name of that beverage was “Pemberton’s French wine Coca” which was a mix of damiana, coca and kola nut.
Unlike today where we buy Coca-Cola only because we like the taste of it, in the beginning this drink was marketed as something that will help people with different health problems, including sexual libido.
Even though people who hate Coca-Cola tend to say that there is cocaine in it, they are wrong.
Cocaine was removed from Coca-Cola back in 1903.
