Even though 80 years have passed since her disappearance, it is still not known what happened to Amelia Earhart. An exciting new video footage has been released, showing Earhart preparing for that last journey. The video reemerged after more than 80 years. The material has been published together with an eBook called “Amelia Earhart’s Last Photo Shoot.” The eBook was written by Nicole Swinford, who claims that the footage was filmed in May 1937 at former Burbank Airport (Bob Hope Airport). Others claim that the video dates back to March that same year.
It is not known who shot the video, which saw the light of day after being found by John Bresnik, the nephew of the photographer in charge of documenting the preparation. Those who decide to see the video will quickly see that it captures the private side of Amelia Earhart, often overshadowed by her public image. The video shows Earhart posing for photos, climbing onto the plane and standing on the tarmac. Her husband George Putnam can also been seen, as well as Fred Noonan, her navigator.
Her departure from the airport into the unknown took place a few days later. Earhart and Noonan previously took a shot of flying around the globe with two other people, but the mission had to be aborted in Hawaii where the plane broke down.
