When we think about shoes, there is nothing special about them that we can think of, because they became something completely casual and normal for people.
But we never go back, thinking what they had presented few decades or centuries ago. So that’s why we decided to give you some interesting information about shoes, and you will see how different things were before we were born.
For example, in Ancient Egypt people who were slaves had no shoes, yet some of them wore something like sandals made of palm leaves.
Of course people who were rich and had a higher status could wear sandals, but of course only pointed ones.
Most of them wore yellow or red, because they presented something classy and only rich people could have them.
This fact is little bit funny: In 1818, real shoe was invented, and until then people couldn’t make difference between a shoe for right feet or for left one. It’s like there was no distinction.
Shoes back then had different purpose, which you can already see. They weren’t made for comfort.
So the first pair of left and right footed shoes were actually made in Philadelphia.
As we all know women today like to wear shoes with high heels, because they give them a special feeling, but during the 16th century women had to wear shoes that had extremely high heels.
They were so high, that women simply couldn’t walk normally in them, so they needed someone like a servant who could help them walk.
